CHICAGO'S NEW DISTRICT COUNCIL
For too long, the Chicago Police Department has operated with little accountability or oversight from the communities it exists to serve. Our systems of public safety have been broken because the community has had no voice or power over policing. Our movement is changing that through the District Council.
WHAT WILL COUNCIL MEMBERS DO?
District Council Members will:
-
Serve as community public safety liaisons
-
Hold monthly open meetings in the district to build relationships and connect our community
-
Develop and expand public safety initiatives in the district and city-wide
-
Educate the community about public safety services already available in the district and city
